Event at Church of Battlecreek

I am so lucky that i have such wonderful friends in ladies ministry. My friend Denise at The Church of Battlecreek called me up and wanted to know if i would participate in an event she was hosting with her woman's group at church. I said "sure i am in!"
The theme was Chocolate. Yumo. Everyone brought chocolate. We had a 10 foot table of chocolate. Ladies i highly recommend.. Did I say "chocolate?"
The tables were decorated with glass votives, coffee beans and candles. The room smelled awesome.
The front of the room was set up like the "View" from tv. Four woman were discussing mom's that work vs. mom's that don't work. I was the mom that works. The 4 of them interviewed me and we went over the pro's and con's of what i Do. A very heated fun loving conversation. Everyone had their opinions. You just have to love America. Afterwards, everyone sat around their 8 top table and discussed prepared questions about the same subject. Most of us had moms that had stayed at home.
The evening wrapped up and then the woman headed out to the hall for some shopping. The evening was a great success.. Chocolate, great conversations and purse shopping.
Leave it to Denise. She always plans a one of a kind event.

Why I do what I do!

Hi,

The other day I was at a payroll deduct vendor show..Fyi, That is a show where companies invite vendors in,employees(mainly woman) shop and then they take money out of the their paycheck a couple weeks later.. This is great for the wives because their husbands never find out.. shhhh

I was exhausted..fyi:These shows require about 15 hours of preparation the day before the show, and 15 hours the day of the show..Girls there is no glamour in this.. lot's of mental and physical work.. Along with a lot of sweat and "sore" feet and backs..

I was catching my breathe and trying to straighten purses out and in walked one of my regulars.. almost, groupie status.. ha ha..

In she walked.. there was something different about her.. I couldn't pinpoint it at first.. I helped her for a little bit to choose the perfect purse..but, sat down and some other customers started to take over...

I could still tell there was something different.. She had a new hair style.. a new outfit on.. I could tell when she looked in the mirror trying to decide which purse to get she was seeing herself differently..

It was magical.. That's when it dawned on me.. Selling purses really doesn't make me happy.. but, seeing a woman look at herself in the mirror with a smile on her face.. ROCKS MY WORLD!!

I witnessed a woman start to see herself the way God see's her.. beautiful, wonderful,precious..

I love watching woman glimpse their true reflection,

I am so blessed

"My first blog"

Hi,
This is my first blog ever.. so want to tell everyone why I decided to start blogging: I need an outlet to express the "Adventures" of running a purse business out of my house. Far from the usual my days often seem SUPERNATURAL!

A typical day in the life of the purse lady consists of quiet time.. with the one and only.. "I am" and I am continually remined that "I am Not." A couple of loads of laundry, a team meeting with hubby over coffee.. We usually discuss the game plan for the day.. and some quiet time with all the pets.. they all like some early morning cuddling.. "I always wonder if my pets will be in heaven with me?" Has anyone ever researched that? A couple," I have to admit" I don't ever care if I see again.. I am not talking about my current pets..

Pets..(that is a subject I will save that for another blog..)They all need proper introductions.. Just know there are 2 cats,3 dogs and 2 frogs.. Most have been rescued.. the frogs.. we "won" the drawing! Right.. can I say "taken advantage of."

I wander up to my showroom and my day begins.. It is filled with 2 phones ringing all day, website orders,e-mails to return.. customer issues(the latest being the cording on the circle purses are unraveling),scheduling appointments, working with importer to get the right merchandise on the way, running to the monogrammer to custom everyone's baby, bridesmade or graduation gifts. Deciding what show to do or not to do..pricing purses, doing inventory, getting purses to photographer so I can then send to website designer..(Did I mention she.. ROCKS) There are tons more that I do on a day to day basis.. but, just want to let you know a little about what the purse lady does behind the scenes.. It is not as glamourous as it looks sometime.. Would I change what I do? Never in a million years.. I love what I do..

The best results I usually get are when I offer up a prayer of "Help me Jesus."When I try to do it on my own.. Guaranteed failure! The more I set back and rely on him the more my days seemed to go smoother.

The goal for my blog is for everyone to jump in the car with me and go on a ride.. I am sure we will be twisting and turning around some corners ,putting on the breaks and speeding at times.. And guaranteed some great scenary and no doubt some real rocky roads..

Also, before you put on your seatbelt I need you to know that I always point people to Jesus. He is the only way I get through my day.. So if you don't want to hear my truth then you might want to get in someone else's car..

Jump on in.. The "Purse lady is about to drive across the country"
